Edirisinghe Cushion Works (ECW) began with a simple belief: a vehicle should feel as good as it looks. What started as a focused craft in upholstery and comfort upgrades evolved into a complete interior modification and custom build studio—trusted by everyday drivers, luxury vehicle owners, and Corporate clients clients across Sri Lanka and beyond.

Our Journey to Leadership
Our journey to leadership was forged through intense hardship. At the close of 1998, the company’s original rented facility was recalled by the landlord, leaving the young business displaced. Mr. Edirisingha attempted to re-establish operations in multiple scattered locations across Warakapola, but these initial transition phases faced heavy setbacks and were unsuccessful.
The ultimate turning point came when our founder liquidated his primary personal asset—his motorcycle—to secure a private plot of land in Pasyala. Constructing a self-owned, single-room workshop in the year 2000, this critical pivot stabilized operations and catalyzed our transition from a solo venture into a rapidly scaling enterprise.

When I founded this company in 1997, I started in a tiny 6×6 rented room along the Kandy Road in Warakapola. I didn’t have a team, a large capital, or a grand corporate roadmap. I had only one goal: to work hard every single day, use my hands to protect and elevate our customers’ beloved vehicles, and earn an honest living. In those days, I was the craftsman, the tailor, the welder, the accountant, and the salesman all at once.
The journey was never easy. When my landlord recalled that rented space at the end of 1998, I found myself displaced with nowhere to work. I tried restarting in several different locations around Warakapola, but faced setback after setback. None of them succeeded. With my back against the wall, I had to make the hardest decision of my early life—selling my most prized personal possession, my beloved motorcycle, just to buy a small plot of land in Pasyala.
Building a single-room workshop on that land in the year 2000 was the true turning point. It taught me that real growth is built “inch by inch” on a foundation of absolute resilience and uncompromised quality.
While I began this journey entirely alone, the monumental success we see today belongs to the incredible pillars standing right beside me. This triumph would have been entirely impossible without the unwavering support, sacrifices, and shared vision of my wife, my son, and my daughter. They are the quiet strength and the driving force behind this success, transforming a personal dream into a true family legacy. Alongside them, our brilliant professional management team has brought the strategic leadership needed to take our operations to the global stage.
By 2008, we were anticipating market trends, importing premium seating solutions from Japan, and growing past 30 team members. Today, backed by my family, our management, and a family of over 150 dedicated staff members, Edirisingha Cushion Works has expanded internationally, serving over 100,000 satisfied customers and operating as South Asia’s largest vehicle interior modification center.
As we lead the industry in bespoke luxury limousine and motorhome conversions, our mission has expanded. We aren’t just modifying vehicles anymore; we are elevating Sri Lanka’s luxury tourism infrastructure and contributing proudly to our national economy.

1997 වසරේදී මම මේ ව්යාපාරය ආරම්භ කළේ වරකාපොල, මහේන ප්රදේශයේ නුවර පාර අයිනේ පිහිටි කුඩා 6×6 කුලී කාමරයකිනුයි. එදා මට විශාල සේවක මණ්ඩලයක්, විශාල ප්රාග්ධනයක් හෝ දැවැන්ත ආයතනික සැලසුම් තිබුණේ නැහැ. මට තිබුණේ එකම එක අරමුණක් පමණයි. ඒ, සෑම දිනකම මහන්සි වී වැඩ කරමින්, අපව විශ්වාස කර පැමිණෙන පාරිභෝගිකයන්ගේ ආදරණීය වාහනවලට හොඳම සේවාව ලබා දී සාධාරණ ජීවනෝපායක් උපයා ගැනීමයි. ඒ මුල් වකවානුවේදී ශිල්පියා, මසන්නා, වෑල්ඩින් කරන්නා මෙන්ම ගණකාධිකාරීවරයා සහ විකුණුම්කරු වූයේද මමමයි.
මේ ගමන කිසිසේත්ම පහසු එකක් වූයේ නැහැ. 1998 වසරේ අගභාගයේදී, අප සිටි කුලී ස්ථානයේ ඉඩම් හිමියා එම ස්ථානය නැවත ලබා ගැනීමත් සමඟ මට වැඩ කිරීමට තැනක් නොමැතිව දැඩි අසරණභාවයට පත් වුණා. වරකාපොල අවට විවිධ ස්ථානවල ව්යාපාරය නැවත ආරම්භ කිරීමට මම උත්සාහ කළත්, ඒ සෑම උත්සාහයක්ම අසාර්ථක වුණා. කිසිදු පිළිසරණක් නොමැති වූ ඒ මොහොතේ, මගේ ජීවිතයේ අසීරුම තීරණයක් ගැනීමට මට සිදු වුණා. ඒ, මට තිබූ එකම වත්කම වූ මගේ ආදරණීය යතුරුපැදිය විකුණා, පාස්යාල ප්රදේශයෙන් කුඩා ඉඩමක් මිලදී ගැනීමයි.
එම ඉඩමේ 2000 වසරේදී කුඩා කාමරයක වැඩපොළක් ඉදිකිරීම අපගේ සැබෑ හැරවුම් ලක්ෂ්යය වුණා. සැබෑ සාර්ථකත්වය ගොඩනැඟිය හැක්කේ නොසැලෙන ධෛර්යය සහ ගුණාත්මකභාවය මත “අඟලෙන් අඟල” යන පදනම මත බව එය මට කියා දුන්නා.
මම මේ ගමන තනිවම ආරම්භ කළද, අද අප ලබා ඇති මේ දැවැන්ත සාර්ථකත්වයේ සැබෑ හිමිකරුවන් වන්නේ මා අසලින්ම සිටි සුවිශේෂී ශක්තීන් කිහිපයයි. මගේ ආදරණීය බිරිඳ, පුතා සහ දියණියගේ නොසැලෙන සහයෝගය, කැපකිරීම් සහ පොදු දැක්ම නොමැති වන්නට මේ ජයග්රහණය කිසිසේත්ම ලබාගත නොහැකි වනු ඇත. මගේ පෞද්ගලික සිහිනයක් සැබෑ පවුලේ උරුමයක් බවට පත් කිරීමට ඔවුන් මට මඟ පෙන්වූවා. ඔවුන් සමඟින්, අපගේ දක්ෂ වෘත්තීය කළමනාකාරීත්ව කණ්ඩායම අපගේ ව්යාපාරික මෙහෙයුම් ජාත්යන්තර මට්ටමට ඔසවා තැබීමට අවශ්ය උපායමාර්ගික නායකත්වය ලබා දුන්නා.
2008 වසර වන විට වෙළෙඳපොළ අවශ්යතා හඳුනා ගනිමින් ජපානයෙන් උසස් තත්ත්වයේ ආසන ආනයනය කර බෙදාහැරීමටත්, සේවක මණ්ඩලය 30කට වඩා වැඩි කර ගැනීමටත් අපට හැකි වුණා. අද වන විට මගේ පවුලේ අය, කළමනාකාරීත්වය සහ 150කට අධික කැපවූ සේවක මණ්ඩලයේ ශක්තියෙන් යුතුව, එදිරිසිංහ කුෂන් වර්ක්ස් (Edirisingha Cushion Works) ආයතනය ජාත්යන්තරය දක්වා ව්යාප්ත වී ඇති අතර, ලක්ෂයකට අධික තෘප්තිමත් පාරිභෝගිකයින් පිරිසකට සේවය කරමින් දකුණු ආසියාවේ විශාලතම වාහන අභ්යන්තර නවීකරණ මධ්යස්ථානය ලෙස අභිමානයෙන් නැගී සිටිනවා.
